Huacaya Alpacas

Amelia Bedelia is one of my favorite children's book characters. She is so concrete! I love it. Amelia Bedelia is definitely not concrete! She is as soft as a lofty cloud and as bright as a sunny day. She is built like a little tank with a long, bright, uniform and well aligned staple. Her fineness, uniformity and density are excellent. She has great bone density and her conformation is great. She will be bred in the fall--probably to Snowmass Moonlight Oblivion. The combined qualities of staple length, density and even more uniformity should be magical.

TP Reflection by Alydar is a well grown yearling with a beautiful, dense fleece with excellent fineness and uniformity. She has excellent bone density and general conformation as well. Her dam, Echo is one of our older moms who was sired by our TP Matrix Jubilee. She will be ready to breed in the fall. Potential herd sires include: Snowmass Moonlight Oblivion, Irish Meadows Commander and SA Diamonte's Mataro.

Padma is the last cria we have had out of Snowmass Purity. Purity is retired from breeding now but we have this lovely little female sired by Red Granites Alydar. She has a fine, uniform fleece but could use more density. Her conformation is excellent and she will be a solid breeding female.

TP You Make My Heart Sing truly does! TP You Make My Heart Sing is exactly what we were hoping for with this breeding. Her dam, FT Wild Thing is sired by Clear Mountain Stratton and has the impeccable conformation he is known to contribute with a bright, black fleece. Her Sire, Red Granites Alydar is the most amazing roan herd sire I have ever seen with solid conformational traits and an elite fleece that has exhibited amazing staying power. This pedigree combines the best attributes of both the dam and the sire. Sing has a beautiful true black fleece that is bright and dense with a wonderful handle. Her conformation is excellent with a regal stance. I am really excited to see what this young female is going to produce.

Looking at this boy's fleece creates TEMPTATIONS. He has a long, bright, well aligned fleece that is both dense and fine. He has impeccable conformation and is gorgeous. He is a son of Snowmass Dire Straits and NPA Trinket.

TP Velaris by Alydar brings together a combination of multi champion parentage. His Dam, Irish Meadows' Rylee is a bay black Snowmass Matrix daughter who won multiple championships. His Sire is non-other than the renowned Red Granites Alydar by Val D L'sere. This boys fleece is fantastic. It is bright, dense, fine and extremely uniform. This fabulous fleece sits on a solidly conformed young male. He is definitely a future herd sire.

TP Jubilee's Echoe is a solid female with excellent conformation and size. She exhibits excellent density and fineness along with a nice softness of handle. Echoes of greatness abound in this pedigree....Snowmass Matrix, Snowmass Quechua, Victor's Valedar, PPeruvian Victor, and Chase Tavern Tallow. TP Jubilee's Echoe is the daughter of our TP Matrix Jubilee who has spectacular density with a density of 107 follicle per square millimeter. Her dam is Chase Tavern Tallow, who is the dam of TP Poseidon's Motivator ( our multi champion male now owned by Jennifer and Dick Babcock and Sandy and Greg Smith). She is a beautiful, well grown white female with a dreamy combination of fineness, density, and impressive staple length. Her 2017 shearing, at 12 months of age, produced 7 lbs of fleece off of a 115 lb female with an average fiber diameter of 16.4. We haven't done a skin biopsy on her but I suspect that like many of TP Matrix Jubilee's offspring, she has inherited his spectacularly dense, fine fleece and she will be a great addition to any light breeding program looking to add impressive fineness with density and staple length. She has a gorgeous female cria sired by Alydar at her side. Her name is TP Reflection by Alydar and she is a gorgeous dark fawn. Mercie is another beautifully fine female out of a daughter of TP Matrix Jubilee and Snowmass Elite Legend. She has the wonderful combination of fineness, density and staple length. She is a beautiful female with a very long stapled fleece and excellent conformation. She has some remarkable EPD's for fineness, fleece weight and staple length. We absolutely LOVE Trinket. She has excellent conformation and a gorgeous fleece with density, fineness and uniformity. She is a wonderful mom and has produced 2 beautiful offspring so far. She was bred to TP Absolutely Elite for this spring's cria. Our goal was to combine her density, fineness and uniformity with the extreme uniformity and fineness that TP Absolutely Elite has for an offspring with even more elite fleece characteristics. In addition, he is a more compact alpaca. This cria is 6 weeks old, and looks amazing so far. She is currently open and will be ready to breed in the fall, I may even use her as a donor for ET.

Irish Meadows' Commander is an excellent Herdsire that we purchased at the 2023 Futurity Auction! Commander, produced of the second crop of offspring of Irish Meadows' many time champion; Irish Meadows' Reputation, does not disappoint! His fleece is breathtaking with its crumply structure, uniformity, long staple, brightness, and super low micron. Commander also has a gorgeous head style and nice, boxy conformation. His fleece is darker on the inside, making him a dark fawn coloration. Commander's sire, Irish Meadows' Reputation, won first place in a competitive Get of Sire at the AOA National Show in March of 2022 with his very first crop of babies. Those same Reputation offspring also won Breeders Best 3 at the AOA National Show as well for Irish Meadow Alpacas. Reputation is has win over 20 Championship banners himself. Commander has done very well thus far in the show ring! He was awarded the prestigious Fawn Male Color Champion banner at the 2023 AOA National Fleece Show with his juvenile fleece and also won Best Crimp & Best Brightness and the Fawn Color Champion at the 2023 ABR Fall Festival Fleece Show! He is marked incorrectly on his 15x scan picture as well as density scan picture as a female rather than a male. I can redo at a later date. His 15X scan shows large fiber clusters mostly uniform in shape and placement. His true density is a freakish 107.73 follicles SQ MM of skin and his S/P ratio is 12.6 to 1. Note his high level 4 of 4 gland presence as the grey areas on the S/P and 250X scans. I would expect brightness of his fibers and this level of gland presence seems to be a strongly passed male genetic trait. 100 secondary fibers average 13.9 microns while 50 primary fibers average 17.4 microns for a spread of only 3.5 microns EPD’s Jubilee’s 2014 EPD’s place him in the top 1% for 4 traits. Jubilee is conformationally beautiful and is extremely typey and compact. In addition, he carries a fleece that is stunning! His strong EPD's from both his dam and his sire are rock solid and predict that he will be able to project these fleece characteristics to his offpring in a reliable and predictable way. All alpacas are not created equally....TP Matrix Jubilee is living proof and the science says so!

TP Jubilee's Charisma is a stunning overall male! He carries a bright, soft fleece and has the combination of fineness and density that we have been seeking. He also has beautiful conformation and style. He IS the complete package! His genetics are a combination of Caligula's Accoyo Poseidon, Vaccoyo's Triumph, and TP Matrix Jubilee, a direct son of Snowmass Matrix. His EPD's are excellent across the board....all of them better than 10th percentile. Charisma skin BX “TP Jubilee’s Charisma” was biopsied as a 27 month old white huacaya male with ARI#32547054. Her BCS is 7/10 and weight 138.2 lbs. His medium FS is 1.5 of 3. His 15X scan demonstrates fiber clusters very uniform in size, shape and placement within her connective tissue. His true adjusted density based on BCS measures 104.6 follicles SQ MM of skin and his average S/P ratio based on 25 typical fiber clusters is 11.3 to 1. Note from all scans that less than 15% of his secondary fibers show some level of medullation (red dots). He shows level 4 of 4 gland presence. One hundred secondary fibers averaged 18.3 microns and 50 primary fibers averaged 23.1 microns for a variation of only 4.8 microns. The above stats figure this 27 month old with above average BCS (7/10) AFD at 18.72 microns. Fantastic fiber stats that may even be a bit blown because of BCS. His cria are on the ground and they are consistently stunning! We are proud to co-own Charisma with Rancho Inca Alpacas!

He has a luxuriously soft handling fleece with wonderful brightness, character and consistency, while also having excellent density and exceptional uniformity. TP Absolutely Elite is a son of one of our top females, Snowmass Absolutely Heaven and out of one of the most remarkable Herdsires in North America: Snowmass Elite Legend. Check out his awards, he has 5 Spirit of the Fiber Industry awards to his name through fleece & innovative fleece shows - that is simply amazing! TP Envy of Legend represents the whole package. He brings the consistency, density, and persistent fineness from Snowmass Elite Legend (his sire) and TP Matrix Jubilee (his grandsire). He also brings excellent staple length from Sunset Hills Secret Whisper (his grand dam) who is a Sunset Hills Zephyrus daughter. His fleece is exceptionally bright with a long, well organized staple that is consistent throughout his blanket. He has a proud stance with exceptional bone density and overall conformation. His EPD's for 2022 have 4 traits in the top 1% I am genuinely excited about what this male is bringing to our breeding program and can't wait to show his beautiful cria.

We are please to announce out co-ownership of High Plains Tornado's Torrific with Mario and Bill of Rancho Inca Alpacas. High Plains Tornado's Torrific is an exceptional male imported from one of the best Canadian breeders: High Plains Alpacas. This male has outstanding character, excellent organization and blinding brightness. he has excellent conformation and superb phenotype. Torrific's sire, Prairiefire's Hurricane's Tornado, had a record breaking show career followed by his record breaking offspring, winning undefeated Supreme Championships & Supreme Championship fleece awards, which before broken, his offspring went on a 5-year consecutive Supreme run in both male & female. Tornado is a male who holds the title of the most Canadian Futurity Supreme Championships won, at a grand total of seven! He is even said to be the highest awarded alpaca in Canadian history! But those awards aren't by fault. His first year histogram reveals a 13.3 micron fleece with a curve of 69.5 and a 9th year test of 18.4 microns and curve of 49.8! To boot, his offspring have reached extremely fine micron number like 12.5mm with standard deviation numbers of 2.5 and curvatures as high as 83.5 - now that is impressive stats for a production male! Torrific's 2018 skin biopsy donce by Dr. Norm Evans showed well above average density for a large male. Many males with similar to higher density are smaller framed males. Torrific's 15x scan shows numerous typical fiber clusters to be very uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue which is a fiber trait likely passed from his dam. His true density based on his BCS measures 76 follicles SQ MM of skin. 25 typical fiber clusters measure an average S/P of 11.2 to 1. His S/P view shows 8 typical fiber clusters indicating level 4 of 4 gland presence which based on history seems to be a strongly passed male trait associated with bright healthy fiber. This S/P view also includes a triad fiber cluster seen with alpacas with greater density. His last scan measures the average size of his primary to secondary fibers from typical clusters. 100 typical secondary fibers averaged 17.3 microns while 50 typical primary fibers averaged only 21.4 microns. This results in an S/P spread of only 4.1 microns indicating great uniformity of micron size. As a 4 year old male this small spread may be his strongest genetic trait as this ratio seems to be strongly passed from males to their offspring. The average S/P spread that I measure in mature huacaya males is 9+ microns. His average fiber diameter based on my stats is 17.66 microns. Note on all his scans that virtually none of his secondary fibers show medullation as noted by the stained red medulla cells in the center of his fibers. Torrific shows Wow fiber stats. I appreciate the opportunity to measure a male of this caliber.

Color Genotype: EeAa3 Snow Diamond Perfect Storm is a direct son of Snowmass Defiance, who resides in Australia as an ELITE breeding sire for EP Cambridge Alpaca Stud (HQ). His offspring are not only American National Champions but also Australian National Champions, which is impressive. Defiance himself is a son of Snowmass Elite Legend. Perfect Storm's dam is Snowmass Matrix Perfection, a Snowmass Matrix daughter and full-sister to Snowmass Matrix Belvedere. Perfect Storm was awarded the 2017 AOA National Best Bred & Owned Male banner, and has many other Bred & Owned and Championship wins to his name, respectfully. He acquired the best traits of his parents, including fineness (which is lasting), excellent consistency, brightness, density and a high-frequency crimp that is well-defined and uniform throughout. His EPDs are also exceptional, with 4 traits in the Top 1% in 2021 & 2022. He is gorgeous with stunning presence, a beautiful head style, bone density, and overall confirmation...and he has an easy going disposition which makes him a joy to handle! Irish Meadows' Raider is a new Herdsire for our ranch. He will work well as an outcross for our Snowmass Matrix/Elite Legend combinations. Raider has a striking presence with typey conformation and style. He also has a remarkable, bright, dense fleece with excellent staple length and handle. His first cria were everything we hoped they would be. We have several girls bred to him for next season's cria. Color Genotype: eeAa2 With these results, he should be able to cover black.

Color Genetic testing: Eea1a2 Red Granites Alydar will produce all colors; white to black! All offspring will have an "a" allele. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Red Granite Ranch in the ownership of this spectacular male. (I know....we haven't done gray in years.) When it comes to this male right here though, he is simply one of a kind. You could not ask for more, the epitome of excellence and frankly, it doesn't matter what color he is: Red Granites Alydar By Val D Lsere. There has never been a Grey Alpaca to stir up as much commotion as this one, and probably never will be. For all that have seen and judged this male, he has been represented as the IDEAL standard for grey fleece. The evenness of his fineness and the astounding density and uniformity that is found within his blanket is simply incomparable. It is a very advanced, high-frequency crimp style from skin to tip, rarely seen in his color group. This crimp style continues right down the leg and into his belly area, also running up through the neck all in a very uniform manner. Judges’ have described his fleece as “angel-like and delicate” with “superior uniformity of micron” and carrying the “dangerous combination of fineness and density”. Alydar was shown at one of the highest level shows, Nationals, and took first place as a juvenile, yearling, 2-year-old, and mature male, he also did so at The Futurity, taking a first place as both a yearling and 2-year-old and then moved into the champion circle. He also won the 2021 Futurity Judges' Choice Male & 2023 AOA National Dark Male Supreme Champion trophy. Many juveniles place well the first year but the real test is if they can stand the same position or even better position the following years, and hold onto their exceptional traits. He has a total of 40 Championship banners, 10 Judges' Choice awards, a Supreme Championship, a Grand Champion, and Spirit of the Industry win to his name, not to mention he was named the #1 National High Point Huacaya Male in 2022 and #3 National High Point Huacaya Male in Fleece for 2023. He became the first gray to win the prestigious Futurity Judges’ Choice award and first grey to win a National Supreme Championship trophy, and also became the second gray alpaca to have won over 30 Championship banners. That is impressive. Nothing about him has wavered over the years. Alydar comes from a generation after generation of champion alpacas. His lineage includes Herdsire of the Year winners: VAL D LSERE, MR SIZLIN ROSE, and MATRIX while also including top color producing sires: MATRIX ROSE, CONOPA, VALENTINO, THELONIUS, KIRWIN, CASANOVA, and SIZLIN HOT. Excellence in COLOR is in this males blood! Alydar's production has been everything we hoped for and more. He has produced every color inducing Silver Greys, Rose Greys, True & Bay Blacks, Fawns, Browns, and Whites of all shades. And he is stamping CHAMPIONS!

As breeders, we are all breeding for fineness, density and most of all…UNIFORMITY. This male was hand selected with the help of Lynn Edens to provide increased uniformity while maintaining fineness without driving the micron down further. His other positive traits include density, curvature, fineness, and STAPLE LENGTH. On top of that, he has beautiful conformation with a typey head and a princely presence. He has 5 registered cria and has started his breeding career here in Texas with several more cria coming! We currently have 4 of our own cria on the ground--3 are female and 1 is a male. We are extremely pleased with these cria. They are all very young still and we will post pictures soon.

Irish Meadows' Rylee is an elite black foundation female! She is simply special! This spectacular true black Matrix daughter has earned 11 champions as of February 2020. Rylee is hard to beat with her super crimpy, ultra-soft fleece that has incredible consistency over her entire body, as well as an amazing primary to secondary ratio. TP Whispered Elegance has a beautiful fleece style with exceptional staple length. She is a very typey, compact female. She it the daughter of Snowmass Loro Piana and TP Whispering Angiel (a daughter of TP Matrix Jubilee). She has wonderful density, fineness and staple length. Her color genotype is eeAa1. She currently has a stunning little male at her side, TP Elegant Quest, sired by our TP Absolutely Elite. She is an excellent mother and continues to have an amazing staple length which she passes along to her cria.

Amber Autumn Nugget is a beautiful light fawn female out of Accoyo America's Eros. She is wonderful mom and is passing on some beautiful attributes to her cria. She had an Alydar cria last year who has a bright, tightly crimped fleece and has mom's coloring. His name is TP Gold Rush by Alydar. WILD THING is a daughter of Clear Mountain Stratton and a granddaughter of Snowmass Silent Legend. She is an elegant looking female with a beautiful, bright fleece. I absolutely love, love, love her sweet face and rock solid conformation. Her Alydar cria is a lovely true black female. She is pretty amazing! Her name is TP You Make My Heart Sing by Alydar. She has a very nice bay black male cria at her side by Snow Diamond's PERFECT STORM. TP Rainbow Reflection is one of our Embryo Transfer babies. Her dam, CCNF Rainbow Pulse was a 2 X Futurity Champion. She was sired by Snow Diamond Perfect Storm. She has a very dense, fine and consistent fleece. She has excellent conformation. Color Genotype: eeAA Her cria this year was a gorgeous dark fawn female by Red Granites Alydar by Val D L'sere. This adorable little one is already sold after she is weaned.

Accoyo America Zelda is a strikingly beautiful female that we are excited to have in our breeding program. She has excellent conformation with a beautiful alpaca phenotype....and I love her head. She brings stellar fleece qualities as well with EPD's in the top 25% or better for most characteristics. In addition she brings a valuable pedigree as a Xanadu P Aristide daughter with Haldane and Don Quixote on her dam's side. She has reliably produced some amazing, fine offspring. TP Fairy Tale of Legend is the stuff of Legend. She is the daughter of the incredible Snowmass Elite Legend and the beautiful CCNF Flora (A Matrix Majesty daughter). Mahana is the daughter of our Nevaeh. She is spirited and sweet. Mahana is also the daughter of CCNF Elixir and not surprisingly has a stunning fleece. She has a beautiful conformation with an elite fleece: fineness, density, and consistency. For her first cria,she had a beautiful little male out of Crescent Moon's Accoyo Augustine. He is light fawn. She had a spunky little roan male, sired by Red Granites Alydar, last year and an adorable light brown female sired by Alydar this season. TP Allure is one of CCNF Amaryllis best offspring. As her name would suggest, she attracts attention and she is alluring. She has a natural proud stance with a lovely head and excellent conformation. TP Ingot is a daughter of Amber Autumn's Nugget and sired by Snow Diamond's Perfect Storm. She has excellent staple length and well defined character with good density. Her conformation is correct. Her color coat testing shows that she can cover black (Eea2a3). She sheared an almost 10# fleece this year with a 6.6# Blanket. She currently has a little white female cria at her side who was sired by Snowmass Moonlight Oblivion. Of course she is adorable!

Miraval, like her mother, Mirai, is friendly and engaging. She is also always ready for a treat. She has an amazing fleece that has that magical combination of fineness and density with brightness, a wonderfully soft handle and well organized staples throughout. When choosing a breeding for her, I selected our TP Absolutely Elite (an exceptional Elite Legend son). He parades a bright, white fleece that is still maintaining its positive attributes even as he is aging. He has won Spirit of the Industry for his fleece 5X. Her mother, Mirai, produced a stunning female cria who was sired by TP Absolutely Elite. Miraval's fleece is even better than her mother's. I am really excited for this breeding. Color Genetic testing: eeAA Cellina will produce white to fawn/brown! All offspring will have an "A" allele. There is much to like about this female's fleece and the reliable pedigree being it. Cellina's sire is none other than Bernacelli and her dam is a Defiance daughter. She is another example why crossing Loro- and Defiance-line animals has been a formula for genetic advancement. We are thrilled that she is currently bred to our breeding male, Snowmass Moonlight Oblivion. This cria could be "out of this world"! This breeding should produce a fleece with the positive attributes of both Cellina and Snowmass Moonlight Oblivion but I anticipate that it will have even more staple length and uniformity with extreme density and brightness.

Betje is a lovely female out of our Elite Max daughter, Martelle and Snow Diamond's Perfect Storm. She has correct conformation and her fleece is developing into a very promising fleece with density, fineness, a beautiful brightness and a soft handle. Tourmaline is a real gem. She has a long, bright white fleece with excellent fineness, density and organization. Her staple length is incredible. She is a well grown female with elegant conformation. She has done very well in both halter shows and fleece shows. She is currently bred to Xanadu's Picotani. Her dam is NPA Trinket and her sire, Snowmass Global Solutions. Her color genotype is eeAA

Poise has grown into a beautiful yearling. She is the daughter of our Val D L'sere daughter Pride and our herdsire, TP Jubilee's Charisma. She is currently bred to our Snowmass Moonlight Oblivion. Their combination of positive traits--conformation, density, finenss and uniformity should produce and amazing cria. She is due with a sping 2027 cria.

Elixane is growing up to be an amazing female. She has a bright, well organized fleece with an excellent conformation. The uniformity and density along with her fineness are exceptional. We have high hopes for this beautiful daughter of an Elite Max daughter and Red Granites Alydar by Val D Lsere. She has done well in the show ring and she is currently being bred to Destined King, owned by Badger Canyon Alpacas.

We were fortunate to be able to purchase Kismet from Deb and Tim McCarty. She is a lovely Snowmass Sub Seven daughter. Her conformation is excellent and her fleece exhibits amazing density, uniformity and fineness. We are excited for her current breeding to TP Absolutely Elite.
